Dear @zetablockchain
What ZetaChain @zetablockchain wants to do, to put it simply, is to be the "super translator + universal key" that allows all chains to communicate, transfer funds, and interact with each other without needing to create new rules or deal with those expensive and insecure bridges.
How does it achieve this? ZetaChain itself is a public chain that uses PoS, and each validator has two identities:
Observer: Specifically monitors other chains to see if there are new transactions or events, like a gossip reporter, bringing back news at the first opportunity.
Signer: Each person holds a "key fragment," and when combined, they form a key that can unlock the doors of other chains. This way, ZetaChain can directly move assets on other chains, even on older chains like Bitcoin that lack smart contract functionality.
This means that in the future, when you write a contract, you can grasp assets across multiple chains without having to deploy separately on each chain, while also worrying about cross-chain bridges being hacked. You can write a DeFi application on the Ethereum mainnet, easily use Bitcoin as collateral, trade on SOL, and mine on BSC, all in one go.
